Lakes Environmental to Present Paper at the Air Pollution 2006 Conference in the UK

Lakes Environmental’s president and founder, Dr. Jesse Thé, will be attending the Air Pollution 2006 conference being held in The New Forest, UK on May 22 – 24, 2006.  Dr. Thé will be presenting the paper “A Distributed Computing Solution for CALPUFF” which introduces HIVE Grid, a supercomputing solution developed by Lakes Environmental.  The presentation will be held on Monday, May 22nd at 12:40pm.

HIVE Grid is an intranet system that takes advantage of the unused processing cycles of all your organization's computers and substantially reduces wasted computer processing power.  For more information about the HIVE Grid Supercomputing Solution, please contact us at info@weblakes.com.

Dr. Yau, co-author of this paper, is our senior meteorologist responsible for advanced R&D in atmospheric science modeling.

Global Meteorological Data Now Available from Lakes Environmental

Lakes Environmental Software has recently begun preparing global meteorological data for the CALPUFF, AERMOD, ISCST3, and ISC-PRIME air dispersion models.  Data is created using the MM5 model and further processed to be compatible with the above mentioned models.

The use of gridded meteorological data in the AERMOD model was the topic of much discussion at the recent A&WMA Specialty Conference in Denver, Colorado (April 2006).  Lakes Environmental is very excited about this as we have recently entered into a sub-contract with MACTEC to work on gridded met data in order to fulfill contract needs with the U.S. EPA.

For pricing and other information related to this new service, please contact our sales team by emailing info@weblakes.com.
