CALPUFF is an air dispersion model that advects ‘puffs’ of material emitted from modeled sources, simulating dispersion and transformation processes along the way. These puffs can be displayed graphically using debug information written to the main CALPUFF output file (CALPUFF.LST). With CALPUFF View, modelers can visualize puffs as animations in Google Earth.

The AERMOD model produces a series of messages which document fatal errors, warnings, and other information messages about a model run. A modeler who knows how to read and interpret the messages can quickly diagnose problems or analyze results.

CALPUFF model runs can take an extremely long time to complete, but there may be times when sources have been divided into multiple runs. In order to estimate the total impact of all sources, the CALSUM utility can be used to create a single data file which contains the cumulative impacts. CALSUM can support the following output data types.
